Professor at the School of Life Sciences and Medicine, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC); Director of the Institute of Immunology, USTC; Director of the Key Laboratory of Innate Immunity and Chronic Disease, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); former President of the Chinese Society of Immunology and Executive Committee Member of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS).

Has devoted more than 30 years to research on natural killer (NK) cells. Discovered several novel immunotherapeutic targets and developed monoclonal antibodies targeting NK cell receptors, which can reverse NK cell exhaustion for cancer therapy. As the corresponding author, has published over 400 SCI papers in journals including Cell, Immunity, and Nature Immunology, and holds 28 authorized invention patents, with multiple patents licensed for technology transfer.

Recipient of the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award (2008, principal contributor), Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2012, second contributor), Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress (2015), and First Prize of Anhui Provincial Natural Science Award (2017, principal contributor).
